I’ve always wanted to try Irish dancing with an urban twist to it. With the massive amount of Americans who know how to Irish dance, I’m surprised I’ve never seen anyone attempting to mix Irish dance with hip-hop.
I’ve wanted to try mixing the two styles for some time now, so I choreographed an Irish dance number to a famous Linkin Park song and recorded myself dancing it in street clothes and sneakers. I danced it outside with very relaxed posture and arms, much like you would if dancing hip-hop choreography. Since the entire feel is urban while the actual steps are Irish, I’ve decided to call it Urban Irish Street Dancing. Enjoy!
